Drain the pool: Before starting the prep process, you need to drain the pool completely. This will ensure that the surface is accessible and free of any residual water. The preparation process is the most important step during any flooring project. The Elite Epoxy Pros uses state-of-the-art diamond grinders and a self-contained vacuum system that creates an unbreakable mechanical bond to the substrate. Our crew will unload the equipment and then examine the concrete density to choose the most suitable diamond blades for grinding your floor.

We will then grind the surface of the entire floor, which is an important step since it profiles the substrate and opens the concrete material. Our crew will then use a hand grinder to ground down the edges.

It is very important that every inch of the floor is fully prepared for the coating. Elite Epoxy uses an epoxy basecoat with a polyurethane topcoat. We can apply the coating to vertical surfaces such as cinder blocks, wooden baseboards, wooden steps, and foundation walls.

Included in this step, is the grinding process and the cleaning of all debris from the surface.

It is common for concrete pads to have hairline cracks, and although it is a natural occurrence, they must be opened with a diamond cutting wheel in order to fill it with a polyurea filler or mortar. The application process is fast and the filler cures in approximately 25 minutes.

The floor should be fully smooth, and all cracks must be completely invisible. It is common for signs of minor damage, but these spots must also be filled and ground down to achieve a flawless, smooth surface.

After we finish with the grinding process, we will vacuum the erea to make sure all dust and debris are fully removed.

Tape and protect the edges and the floor: To avoid drips and spills, tape the edges of the pool and cover the floor with plastic sheets before applying the epoxy. Elite Epoxy uses an epoxy basecoat with a polyurethane top coating, which is available as a 2--5 day system depending on how many coats. 

We will mix the 2 components by adding pigment to the base coat. The first step is to roll the base coat. Before the base coat is applied our crew will vacuum the excess material from the area. We will then apply the base coat to the entire floor surface. Once the base coat is installed the floor will need to dry before the next coat about 12 hours. The process is then repeated until the floor is completely smooth.

Repeat step 3 as needed. Apply a second coat: Once the first coat is dry, apply a second coat. This will ensure that the surface is completely covered, and there are no bare spots. The process to mix epoxy is relatively simple, and typically follows these steps. First, mix the base coat, which is usually a combination of resin and hardener, in the correct proportions, as specified by the manufacturer's instructions. This is a critical step, as the epoxy will not cure correctly if the proportions are not correct. Next, add the  pigment to the mixture. The amount of pigment needed can vary depending on the desired effect and the manufacturer's instructions. The pigment is mixed thoroughly into the epoxy resin base until it is evenly distributed throughout. Once the pigment is thoroughly blended in, the mixture is applied to the surface in a thin, even layer with a roller or squeegee. The process may differ slightly depending on the manufacturer's instructions, but generally, these steps are followed for mixing epoxy.

The area will be vacuumed and wiped down to certify that there is no dust left behind. followed by a sticky roller. Our crew will then apply a topcoat using a large roller and then back roll it. By doing this, we will be certain that the topcoat is even and thick throughout, leaving a durable, consistent finish.

Topcoat Requirements:

• 24 hours for daily usage
• 48 hours before contents can be returned to the erea
• 96 hours for regular vehicle traffic usage
